Girl, it’s time to step up your fashion game and show out for the next upcoming holiday: Christmas.

However you choose to celebrate, you need to be ready to make your fashion statement known during the most joyous time of the year. Today we’re going to dive into how you can do that while also overcoming common Holiday style dilemmas.

Holiday Style Dilemmas

Sis, how many holiday fashion mistakes have you made in your lifetime?

It’s okay if you made a few (or many). These mistakes can easily be avoided with a little fashion intervention, I like to call it! Don’t believe me? I’ll show you. Have you recently been preparing for a family gathering or virtual holiday celebration and have run into one of these issues:

  • “It’s too damn cold to walk around here looking cute! Sometimes, it’s just too difficult to find those perfect outfits that are warm yet festive.”

  • “Okay, so this year I’m attending some small in-person (or virtual) get-togethers. I believe it’s time to switch up my style to something comfier and kid-friendly. How can I do that, though?”

  • “I want to turn one article of clothing into multiple! The only problem is it’s hard to find these types of clothes. Even if I find some, they may not match my wardrobe. Now, what!?”

Fashion Remedies

The reality is that fashion can be tricky to master. You add “Holiday Fashion” to the bucket, and it can start to get deep. LOL! Luckily, I’m here to provide you with all the tea to fix your holiday fashion dilemmas and relieve you of the added stress!

Dilema #1: Finding looks that will keep you cute, festive, and WARM at the SAME TIME

Dilema #1: Finding looks that will keep you cute, festive, and WARM at the SAME TIME

Adding layers to your Christmas ensemble will keep you warm while also adding a splash of style for the celebration. Adding something as simple as tights, a nice dressy coat, or a statement color cozy sweater creates a layered effect without having to strip out of 20 sweaters and long johns once you reach your destination. Also, don’t be afraid to go against traditional holiday colors. Step out in a monochromatic look in a bold color or a classic neutral, paired with the right accessories and a bold red lip. Keep it simple, chic and cute! There are endless possibilities to add some spice (and warmth) for Christmas.

Dilema #2: Finding looks that are great for informal gatherings but also kid friendly

It’s time to cover up to achieve the best kid-friendly Christmas outfits! You can expect your day and evening to be very active if kids are involved. Opt for pants where appropriate over a dress as you will be bending down often to pick up or interact with children. Reach for a Luxe Knit Pant Set (pictured above - SHOP THE LOOK), pair a great denim with a cozy sweater, or even a jumpsuit. Pull out those colorful scarves, tall boots, and fur vests that will keep your look festive yet fun for the family. Whatever you select, make sure it is packed with stretch because the kids and family members will most likely be pulling you in opposite directions.

Dilemma #3: I need a versatile look for multiple events to get the best BANG for MY BUCK $

If you don’t have multifunctional clothing, then you’re missing out! Multifunctional pieces are critical during the holidays when visiting multiple households or, for 2020, attending numerous Zoom calls. Some of my favorite multifunctional pieces are scarves and turtlenecks. Scarves can be worn traditionally, as a poncho or as a shawl. You can create 3 DIFFERENT OUTFITS through styling 1 scarf. Turtlenecks are a STAPLE to any women’s wardrobe and a multifunctional piece sent from the STYLE GODS! A great tailored turtleneck can be paired with a blazer, under a mini dress or shirt/vest, used for a monochromatic look, and the list goes on! These holiday staples and accessories will help you to transform your festive look with ease.

Fashion Trends of 2020

If all else fails, you could always try out the latest holiday fashion trends of this year! From throwback designs to outfits that conceal and show your shape, the sky's the limit when it comes to sprucing up your fashion for the holidays!! Remember that's it's okay to add your own touch to these trends to make them authentic and true to your style.

Stay Stylish & Happy Holidays!
